Literary Bohemian on Fear and War

Literary Bohemian has a really nice essay about the war(s). This brought a lump to my throat, probably because I miss my own brother so much. The Kevin Tillman letter about his brother Pat gets me for the same reason I suppose. God bless you and watch over you and your brother both, and us all.

I’ve been thinking a lot about war lately –perhaps because the President’s State of the Union address happened recently or because there is talk all over the internet and the news about going to war with Iran. Mostly though, I’ve been thinking about war because my little brother is on a ship at this very moment, destined for the Middle East.

  1. I had no idea your own brother is in the war too. Actually, you’re the first person I’ve met who’s brother has been over seas “serving his country.”

You’ve officially made it on to my blogroll. (I like your style.) And p.s., thanks for the heads up on the EQII game. Its looks like something I’d enjoy.

  2. As much as I detest this war I do wish my brother was serving. Because he died ten years ago.

  3. I wish there was something to say, to console you. But, I imagine that -no matter time or space, there is no consolation that will suffice.

Here I am, I fancy myself a poet and writer and yet, I can’t even find the words to begin to try.
